Friedrich Sauter was awarded his BZ3b on March 30, 1905, if that helps place it in the manufacturing timeline.

I agree this is not a C. F. Zimmermann cross, but have no idea who the mnaker might have been. Anyway, it's a lovely one, and an interesting medal bar!

Here's new member of my OZL collection, just got it today. Knight's Cross 1st class with swords, gold.

When opened to box and got this in my hand, I was totally stunned for a while - very beautiful piece - pictures don't make justice to it

Very nice one.... reminds me I'm still looking for one...

It's unmarked I assume, and possibly came from Switzerland?

I like the 2nd and I do love the 1st one, but Don, seriously, would you find a wearer for the 3rd one, or do we even have an idea how this would fit together?

I don't, honestly. It was discussed on a German forum, and when most agreed this is not a real medal bar, the owner/seller apparently wanted to get rid of it - and got.

From the front the construction looks good and the awards look to be originals. I don't have the rank lists so I can't look it up and with out a reverse shot I just figured its a bar to some up tight Prussian.

The awards don't just look good, but actually are good.

It's the bar I don't like for being a nonsense and non explainable combination.
