It looks like a match to this St Anne, one of the reasons i bought it. Could be French, no marks on the Anne, no idea about the OZL yet.

Yep, i would bet (some, not too much though) it's French made. I like those french ones for St.Anna and Stanislaus etc... In my opinion they are a little bit undervalued (especially the "real size" french crosses) - they usually are of quite good quality like the one you showed and that OZL too.

Back to Zähringer Lion... What would be considered to be the value of the golden 1st class OZL with swords to be worth of nowadays? I've been offered offered one but I am still hesitating with the price request.... No hallmarks whatsoever in it and according to medallion it is Zimmermann -made. (I wonder why I was hoping Saschaw to comment this one....)

saschaw usually doesn't answer price queries in the forums, but you can gladly contact him via email... and send pictures of it.

Interesting piece Carl, and definitely a match to the St. Anne's mini -- same cross die, different enamel and paint.
          Best regards,

Here's two newcomers to my collection...

I like the second one without swords, it has that purple sky like in the commander's cross too, so now they are nice looking couple in vitrine.

One question though to you who know better...: has the hanger loop in this one (without the swords) been repaired or is it originally like that?? It seems to me a little bit like repaired part.

Hanger does look repaired, but I've seen these crosses with several different ones, so I'm not sure... these purple ones are made by jeweller Petry, according to the Klenau book.

Nice and rare ones, ca 1860s to 1870s!

A new addition for me: The medal bar of Major Friedrich Sauter.

                      Nice one.

Can you post a closer picture of Zähringer Lion's castle side medallion?

Very nice one in my opinion. I would definitively want to have this one in my collection

This one looks like older than typical Zimmermann -medallions. I like it a lot. Anyone any idea who's the maker? It distantly looks like Zimmermann -made, but not like the most typical ones often seen around.

Now waiting for Saschaw's comment to get more info

If you ever want to sell it, don't forget me

Sorry for semi-spamming, but have to say this again (sure someone could read between the lines that I just am back home from bar)

                                Me-like-vely-much this last Tyannacek bar/OZL.

Even though how much I try to concentrate my collecting hobby on some other orders, Zähringer Lion is alwayways The One for me which make me literlally drool
