Don't know anything about imperial awards, but hope somebody here can help me identify this family heirloom. If I can find out what the medal in question was, I'd like to try and find one. I assume it's just a regular 'been there done that' medal for a war in 1864 - unfortunately my ignorance of imperial Austria/Germany is so bad that I don't even recall from my history lessons what that war was all about.
Can't make out what the written info says either - I think it identifies the regiment (or unit of some kind) that he was part of. Any ideas?
