I must not forget these two interesting booklets. They're both regarding WWI.

I find the next picture a very interesting one. We all know there was a big recession during the weimar but I found it very funny to see how larger the amount on the money, the smaller the piece of paper gets...

Well that's it for now. WWII has ended and now I need to take more pictures of the rest of his stuff up till the seventies, and then there is the same amount of his wife and a photo album regarding their child with Hitlerjugend pictures. Still a lot to do, but we're getting there.

The 2 documents from post 44 are the award documents for the Hungarian and Bulgarian War Commemorative Medal (Kriegserinnerungsmedaille). Every german soldier who was awarded the Hindenburg Cross (Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer or Kriegsteilnehmer) could apply for these medals, because these countries were allies of germany in WWI. There was also an Austrian War Commemorative Medal you could apply for.

Simply outstanding grouping!!!I just love it!!!

Landesschutzen Btl. 375 was subordinated to Kdr. Kriegsgefangene IV. There was a large POW camp in Oschatz called stalag IVG for British and later American POWs

It's interesting to note that one of the other POW camps in this district was the famous Colditz.

Ok guys, That all there is regarding his documents. Next will be here documents. Interesting is that hers are really different. During her time as a nurse she received a lot of feldpost of soldiers she nursed. She kept all of them.

Would it be interesting to see it in the same thread or should I open an new on. It does belong together? There are also the private photo's of holidays to the Berghof, Salzburg and much more which are quite interesting.

                          Thanks for looking

I'd post it here so they stay together. After all, they have been together for all this time now.

Great thread, and awesome WW1 / WW2 grouping! Maybe the mod(s) here could copy this to the "individual history" forum.

Looking forward to the wife's stuff.
