"There is no documentation, though, and the badge itself ain't talkin'. It is a beautiful piece and I consider it an honor to just have it in my possession."
I'm surprised the badge aint talkin...or that he doesn't claim it's at least chatting a little....You see I saw a talking flute on H.R. Puff n' Stuff once upon a time so we know it's possible! I would have been honoured to hold that in my hand as well!!!Cheers, Steve

Take a look at his prolonged rant in this auction, followed by a reference to WAF
NOTE REGARDING AUTHENTICITY OF THIS ITEM: Unfortunately in the "world" of militaria collectors there is a segment of self-proclaimed "experts" who think they know it all regarding every thing there is to know about militaria, and they will loudly and clearly let you know just how knowledgeable they are. One thing we know about know-it-alls is that they know all they will ever know. Those of us who are less knowledgeable too often take what they say as gospel truth. Too often this results in good intentioned people being left with bad advice which can work for or against them. I had to laugh at one of the militaria chat-sites on the Internet which typically routinely "tears apart" any pictures of military items submitted for review as being reproductions. It amazes me that they can do this from a photograph on line. I was impressed until someone who apparently had had enough on this know-it-all attitude submitted color pictures taken of German Third Reich items during World War II. He cropped the pictures so that it was difficult to tell that they were period photos. Wouldn't you know that the "Know-it-alls" came out of the woodwork and proceeded to proclaim that these items (actual WWII period photos of items) were reproductions! That was good for a laugh plus it proved a point I think. Now, regarding this smock........It is genuine. Some people may tell you it is a reproduction for what ever their motivation is for doing so, but it is genuine. I personally do not have the knowledge of these smocks to give an opinion, but the seller of this item has been a dealer in militaria for the past 30 years and he verified some years ago when he bought it that it is a genuine period piece and he guarantees that now also. The nay-sayers, the know-it-alls, the party poopers, the smug, the arrogant can say what they want. This is a genuine World War Two smock and it will go to the lucky person who recognizes that items like this are available to those who are in the know.
Q: Hi Charlie,I fully agree with what you said about the self-proclaimed experts,no doubt you are referring to the WAF who also rubbished from photos only a Dot 44 tunic I bought on ebay recently which is 100% genuine.I love your smock and would buy it if I had the spare cash.Regards,Neil.
A: Hi travelchinalover......Thanks for your note. It is good to know that I am not alone in my opinion. Yes, that is the site where I saw the bashing of period photos. It is just human nature for some, I guess, to do that. Some people just "outsmart themselves" and it ends up as their loss. Well, all I can do is publish our warranty. I too really like this smock. I have seen reproductions of many WWII German items over the years, including these smocks, and to be able to have in my possession a REAL authentic one is exciting for me. I am just a temporary care-keeper for this one. Like you, if I had the cash, I would buy this one up in a heartbeat. I guess you can say I have the proverbial champagne lover's taste with a beer drinker's purse. Again, thanks for your comments. Have a good day, Charlie
