..this looks to be cast engraving?

Oh, yeah. Thanks Steve. I guess I didn't bother to read it closely .

This is pathetic. It isn't an ebay listing...it’s a cry for help.

Unfortunately someone is going to pay a lot of money before this seller gets the psychiatric help he needs.

Most of all of richthofens stuff he wore was taken off him when he was shot down, by canadian an australian forces. I have read many of the auction lists of items he had, actual souvenier hunters now passed away from the actual day picked up and never have mentioned anything like this ,or has ever been seen ... especially in a photo.
He had left all his other stuff back at his jagsta, and his family retained his awards and trophies(his brother lothar, and family after lothars death). I also doubt the validity of this badge, and der rittermeister militaria may know much about his awards , as imperial german items are his forte.
I may just ask him myself , to see what he has to say, but im sure it will be more than likely the same opinions as stated here. Could this have been a comemerative badge made for some other reason?

Shame on the unethical collectors who try to prevent any potential buyers from increasing the bid for this unique piece

My favourite bit from Charlies ebay sales pitch...

...."Note to all bidders: I have been asked "What is your 'gut feeling' regarding whether or not this badge belonged to Von Richthofen?"...

The way I answer this question is that my 'VIBES' tell me that this is an authentic badge which was in fact owned by the Red Baron."....

                  My vibes....

I'll be sure to request a 'VOA' from Detlev next time I buy something from him.

I know this isn't the real thing because I have all of the Red Baron's medals. Picked em up last week on Ebay.

Wow, even for a newbie this is laughable - although it's good to know the names of some of these eBay sellers.

If I had the same "vibes" as this guy, I'd be off to the doctor and then quickly cancelling that return trip to Tiajuana.

It makes you wonder how people who can knowing screw someone over and still sleep comfortable at night?

hey guys its not that far fetched! I own the PPK that Hitler shot himself with. I personally think it genuinely belonged to him. It just feels right when you hold it in your hand and examine it up close.
