A fair ground game with Wilhelm, Franz Joseph and I assume the Ottoman Sultan in the background. The kid in the foreground is throwing bread (pain K.K.??). "Etrennes" is the money that French kids get on New Year's day so this is the New Year present to Wilhelm.

Back up with a few more:

Wilhelm's nightmare: he sees Alsace-Lorraine, Tunisia and Morocco getting away from him and he owes 40 billion (Francs?) to the allies, defeat on the Marne, failures on the Yser, he cannot get to Calais, failure of the holy war in Turkey, the Russians advancing, etc, etc..

The German soldier says: "we have so many soldiers, officers, planes, ships, submarines, rifles".
The French soldier replies:..... TSVP stands for "turn over please" so the soldier is invited to fill-in that bit himself....
