              Sandro,

I think it is kind of an interesting, from a psychological point of view, that the Kaiser's brother, Prinz Heinrich, probably has about as many orders and medals as the Kaiser has, yet he's standing there in a very, very plain uniform and the Kaiser, like he always does, looks like he's going to a parade! (...and perhaps he was.)

I'm not sure I should post this, since it's not mine, but it's so beautiful I can't resist.

On the Gentlemen's Military Interest Forum one of the members, Peter Nyitray of Sweden, has posted some beautiful Hungarian armed forces photos that he changed from black and white to color using Photoshop. The thread is at http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=23613 if any of you are interested.

The point here is he posted one colorized postcard of Kaiser Wilhelm II that just took my breath away. I believe he's wearing an Austrian hussar uniform. Here it is....

                  That´s a beauty, Mike.
Incidentally here´s some evidence that Prinz Heinrich could dress up if he felt like it....
                  Cheers,
                  Sandro

                      Some new arrivals.
Difficult to translate this French expression involving a cabbage but something like "My victory is up the spout"

Asking for forgiveness (pardon spelt parTon as if spoken with a German accent). The text underneath uses the names of various French and Belgian towns as puns...

Not certain who the third person is with Wilhelm and Franz Joseph?? Maybe a German speaker can translate...

                              Hi TerryG,

                              rough translation:

Peoples of the world, notice for now and later,
so the betrayer swore to the triple alliance (Dreibund).

                              See here:

                              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_Alliance_(1882)

The "betrayer" is Victor Emmanuel III of Italy, see here:

                              Regards
                              Uwe
