                      Truly a great thread Greg.

Marc - phenominal 1870 group. And nice photography as usual.
Andreas - impressive and not often found.

Here is a very nice Friedlander courtesy of Association member Jay V.

                        Great crosses guys

                        Andreas,
The Godet (with fangs) is one of my very favorite crosses

                        Steve,
Very nice clean example of a Fr. cross. I still do not have an
                        Fr of my own.

I am surprised this thread has lasted so long. Keep the crosses
coming. It's always nice to see a new variation.

The thing about Dan's cross that makes it so unique besides the smaller disk, is the lack of a DRGM number. This cross had to be made during the early months of the war. It's so rare, it's no way describe it. I would love to see if anyone else had an example. At least that would give some us hope that we might have a chance to acquire one in the future, as I suspect Dan will not be parting with this one anytime soon.
i have two incompleet maker markt hansens

                          a bit late but ok

                            Engraved and cased Imperial EKI

Here is my only EKI. I searched for many years to find an original period engraved piece. I hope you all enjoy seeing as much as I do sharing.

Although the engraving doesn't mention a unit or soldier's name, I think the text is quite personal and unusual. My German is not very good, but it translates roughly to:

"Cover the longing in your heart with this cross upon your breast...Thea"

Here is a macro shot to demonstrate the beauty and skill of the engraver.
