Paul,
A very impressive display! Thanks for sharing. As I collect police unforms, perhaps I can help with some of your questions.
The Hafenpolizei sleeveband on the Wasserschutzpolizei style tunic indicates that this policeman was assigned to the Harbor Police. The Hafenpolizei wore the same uniform as the WSP but were distinguished by this cuff title.
Your Traffic Police - Avaition tunic has the incorrect shoulder boards for the NCO tunic. According to MdI Uniform Regulations Vom 29. November 1983 the NCO shoulder boards should be the same as regular Transportpolizei shoulder boards (kornblumenblau) while the collar tabs should be the style and color of the Luftstreitkräfte der NVA. The regulations indicate that shoulder boards for Hubschraubereinheit Officer ranks should be the same color as the Luftstreitkräfte as are shown on your Officer tunic (which is correct).
The uniform you show as a Regular Traffic Police - enlisted is in fact a uniform for the Transportpolizei and not the Verkehrspolizei. The Regular Traffic Police uniform would be the same as the standard green VP uniform but worn with a white peaked cap and/or white leather accouterments. The Verkehrspolizei could also wear the white tunic while engaged in traffic direction duties.
The Mint Green Police Tunic is a form of what we might call summer dress for Officers of the regular VP. These tunics were worn when the double breasted Ausgangsuniform was not worn and could be worn on duty. They were supposed to be worn only with trousers and without the belt.
The VP Betriebsschutz NCO uniform was worn by Factory Police that were assigned to industrial facilities. Early examples of this uniform had a sleeveband like your Hafenpolizei title but later examples had this wording embroidered onto the sleeve patch.
I hope this information is helpful. Let me know if I can help with any other police uniform information.
