    Genosse Ian Richardson,

You need to research and build your Political Perception in regard to NVA Scales of Norms, this is done with leg work and looking at a lot of Historical Documentation.

1986 Dress Regulations are the easiest to Conform to, best learn them then look for the less clear ( more complex) earlier Regulations.

If you check the bounty of earlier Threads you will find much useful declassified Information from your Genossen of this Most Progressive of Sector of this Progressive People's Forum.

    Hurra!,Hurra!, Hurra!.

I've found it pretty elusive. So far i've relied on Gowenmilitaria for the majority of my east german needs, and I highly recomend them, as many of you are already familiar . So anyway. Blumentarn; where can I find some? Thanks- Ian
And if you need an army to go along with photos of yourself, I can help.

In regards to RedBarans suggestion, yea I am more fond of the Grenztruppen seeing as how that was my first tunic, and my first interest in DDR militaria. I do own a few equipment items, but none in blumentarn or other wise. though I do have some old Kar98 ammo pouches that are post war (or so I was told when I got them) dated and I wish to ID them as EAST or WEST. thats for another day though. But yes, grenztruppen preferrably.

            Genossen,
Maumee Front is in two weeks.
This time I'll be setting up differently. Will be similar to one of Genosse Viktor's past displays with zelts and camo netting above them.

Organs of State Terror have denied use of transport vehicle, so I will be taking my car and therefore a lot less stuff. This is fine actually because I have officially given up on taking a whole van worth of stuff. I'm going to bring my border guard stuff but leave anything not border guard related at home.

So it should look a lot different than my previous displays, but in a good way.

My camo net and spreaders are NATO, but the camo net is only temporary until I get the appropriate "cabbage leaf" NVA net later this summer.

So hopefully the weather will prevail and the sun's rays will shine down upon the event like the, much like the rays of Glorious Socialism shine down upon us.

Link to the event if anyone is interested:

              Genosse RedBaran11,

If you wish to Deploy as this Rezident's laid down Norm then you will need a Very Strong Internal Security Organ with an awlful lot of Small Arms Ammunition to guard your Frontal Security.

Keep Scale of Issue directly Connected to your Gag.
Deploy it as if it is in the Field, so Equipment Complexes are treated like Equipment Complexes, and at all costs avoid Blanket on the Ground displays.

At all times think how important your deployment is in regards to advancing Marxist Leninism...

Today I'm off to Felixstan as Gate Guard, all Blumentarn up in a 1960's stylee, I will post Images as they are declassified.

                Genosse Viktor,
Not quiet as elaborate as your Purely Defensive Deployment
I mean similar in how it looks in regards to having the camo net up above the zelts.

Hmm, avoid blanket on ground displays? This may be my only viable option, I'm very restricted in what I can take with me this time

                    Genosse!
That's brilliant! That is an early suit with no shoulder boards if I am not mistaken. I was familiar with your other one without the hood. This one looks VERY good. And the equipment to suit. Details that might be lost on other members but not for me are the leather soled boots...
Incidentally, is there a draw string at the hem of the trousers?

Genosse iannima, The Trouser Complex does have draw Strings, the Boots have leather soles with Rubber Pads, they are noisy but the most comfortable DDR Boots I have.

This is the Personal Equipment Complex minus the ABC Suit but with the Boots in the Assault Pack teil 1 flap pockets as it should and the Water Bottle on a Square Ring mounted on the belt.

                          Genosse Viktor,
Question regarding the leather Y-Straps- If markings are worn out, how can one tell if they are DDR straps?

                            Genosse Redbaron11,

If you have to ask that..... then you have failed in your Political Perception.... .

                            Most unfortunate.

It uses DDR Fittings, DDR Pig Skin leather, a single pair of large D rings on the back and Auxillary Straps so it can carry an Assault Pack.

                              I knew that was coming

I've never seen one in person nor have I seen detailed photos. I have just recently been working on the early Grenztruppen stuff, so its a bit new to me.

There are extra d-rings when you compare it to fascist issue.

I *think* those ones my Genosse has are my former fascist re-enactment ones! Which is quite funny
