Hi Andreas! If i am not wrong, the general stands behind Woo chen yoo might be Cho Myong-rok[조명록],he is the First Vice-Chairman National Defense Commission of DPRK and he is the minister of korean people's army general political headquater. His rank is vice marshal.
He was born at 1930.He was in the korean people's army air force. And he was promoted to the commander of air defence corps at 1975[general-Lt or general-col].And his rank promoted to army general at 1992.4.in the same ceremony as Woo chen yoo.Later he was promoted to vice marshal at 1995.10.And he became the First Vice-Chairman of National Defense Commission of DPRK at 1998,9.
His rank in the photo looks like general-Lt.
Is that photo taken in 1970s?
Korean people's army airforce General-col.Cho Myong-rok.
This photo is vice marshal Cho Myong-rok.

Yes,the Photos are in the Timeframe of early to late 70`s.
Amazing Info.Thanks again
Don't get me wrong but I have a very hard Time to see differences in Asian Faces. It still is a riddle for me how, for Example in China, the Police can find Murders or Bank Robbers,as there are not that many differences in the apperiance of the Face and so on.Millions of people in China are small, thin, black hair etc. How do they manage to sort out the good from the bad?It is a serious Question I would really like to know.

Hello!Andreas!
According to my own experience,to differenciate differenct person's face,i will try to recognize their features like nose, eye or shape of the face and hair style, eye brow, etc. The police have more skills to do this i assume. And they are trained to do that in the police academy.
However,i got misidentifying mistakes sometimes.I mixed up nationalities with some european countrys and australian.I always ask for where are they come from.

Vincenz Muller Wehrmacht/kvp/NVA funeral pics
The previous funeral pictures look to be of a General, maybe Vincenz Muller? He was said to have committed suicide in the late 1950s by jumping out of a window. He served as commander of Minsk in 1944, before surrendering to the Soviets. (I talked to a vet on the phone who was there, and also was taken POW by the Soviets. He was a Captain, did not have many kind words for Vincenz Muller or his leadership.) Anyway, he had a contract or some sort of deal with the Soviets to train the KVP/NVA on his release from the Soviet prisoner of war camp, or so the story was told to myself. Does any NVA Vet out there know or heard of him? Or maybe another commander General Arno Von Lenski, who was captured at Stalingrad, and returned to serve in the NVA? Maybe it was his funeral?

Lieutenant General Vincenz M******252;ller died in 1961. An interesting side note is that in the late 1940's early 50s the US Army Counter Intelligence Corps (CIC) was working to get Vincenz M******252;ller to defect from East Germany. This was followed later by Gehlen Organization (West German Intel) efforts to recruit M******252;ller.

The correct name of the marshal of people's army of Korea(North),
whom you mentioned, is
O Jin Woo. Wu chen yoo is chinese pronounciation. However, the air marshal Cho Myong Rok's name is correct.
Andreas.
The problem of 'face identification' is simply because you're not familiar with the asian faces. Asians who have not seen Europeans have similar troubles when they need to identify European faces at first glance.
