Bump - Lots of discussion about Dirk and Kirk but no answer to my original question - Where (town and location in town) and in what month did the graduates of of the Ernst Th******228;lmann Offiziershochschule der Landstreitkr******228;fte der NVA have their "commissioning" ceremony? I thought by now one of our German members would have answered this one.

Okay then, if nobody else knows it:
The ceremony was always in August, the place was the "Weinau-Stadium" in Zittau. Where the cermony took place in Löbau- I´m not sure. I think it was too the stadium there. My ceremony was on August 15th in 1987- now you guys know a lot of my live...

For the pics I will find another thread-or starting a new one. But please be a little patient-my PC got a malware, and all my datas were lost...(scanned pics too)...

Dirk has the answer. From an original NVA recruting pamphlet that was printed in 1989. It says that, "every year on a Saturday in August the stadium of L******246;bau becomes very festive. The event is the naming[commissioning] ceremony for the graduates of the Officers School Ernst Th******228;lmann." Your turn to ask a quesion Dirk. Kevin

                    What/Who was "VEB 203"?

Any of the following will be correct answers:

                    What was produced
Name of city where it was located

                          Another two hints......

1: "203"'s brother factory, "201," was located in a city where one of our members is from.......

                          2: Not in Bezirk Dresden.

Bonus hint 3: I know of at least three other members of the forum who own items from this VEB......
