oky, before you die of hypothermia (nobody here wants that to happen) I'll try to warm you up a bit.

Has it to do with the Polish units fighting on the Western Front from June 44 onwards?

The only link I currently remember between the SU and English speaking countries would be the convoys to Murmansk and Archangelsk and I would expect sailors on a medal for these heroes/veterans.

            Frostbite.... setting.... in.....

Hint- it has nothing to do with Polish troops or northern fleet/convoy sailors.

Nope! Hint: It has nothing to do with POWs or Czechs.

I'm sure that wounded people received it, but unwounded folks did too. That wasn't a criteria for it.

                          --Dave
By mixed I mean mixed countries Corps composition, so let's say, Soviet/Romanian/Hungarian composition in the same Corps. Do I make sense??

                            Dave,

Is this medal in any way associated with Cuba?

It does make sense, and that's partially true, in a sense, as one of the nationalities in the unit was a country before WW2, and a state after the War.

As far as it having to do with Cuba, there's no connection that I know of.
