It's interesting that all the camo smocks worn in the second series of photos are of the pullover variety, and the main subject shown in the photo above is even wearing the rare Splittertarn version.

I'm going back with you to the original theme of this tread and here's a BGS member in a skiing contest.

Ski trousers with pocket flap closure like the pre 1945 models.
Can be private purchase though.

The last link with the flaps are like what I see desribed as BGS Skihosen. Could be earlier type, rather than private purchase. The flap close with 3 buttons and not like the BGS Keilhose with only 1 (flaps also different shape).

Here is photo, that I saved from internet several years before. It is from ski training in 1958. They appear to wear Skihosen with early Sumpftarn jacket (no shoulder "cape" or hood visible) and special boots. Front and rear men have MP1 (Unterführer or instructors probably).

This chopper pilot wears trousers with the same pocket zipp closure.

Do BGS crews man ADAC helicopters? I thought ADAC was an auto association similar to AAA in the US? Maybe BGS puts an crewman onboard if they are operating near the borders?

Kees,

BGS personnel piloted the "ADAC Air Rescue GmbH" helicopters until recently. In the last few years the BGS turned this duty over to the ADAC Air Rescue Service" who now hire civilian pilots for their aircraft. The BGS supplied pilots for a lot of the rescue type helicopter organizations. Here is a pictures reflecting this. Shown is of the typical crew of one of these choppers. On the nose of the helicopter can be seen the emblems of the organizations that supplied the non-flying crew members. The orange choppers were part of the Rettungsstaffel.
