It seems that sometime in 1961 the regulations for stamping the shells changed to this pattern :

And remained so for quite some time .

So maybe the "3" would indicate the shell size ????

        Hi fellow collectors :

After the creation of the new Bundeswehr forum here on WAF I was browsing some older BW threads I found a Bekleidungsliste from 1958.

When I had a closer look onto the items issued to the BW soldier in 1958
especially one piece of equipment got my attention:

        The Mückenschleier (mosquito net) !!
I nearly forgot about the fact that I once got a two piece M1 clone BW helmet that had the Mückenschleier tucked into the liner.

First a look onto the Bekleidungsnachweis mentioning the mosquito net :

The helmet modeling the Mückenschleier is a very nice BIG size unworn
              and 1962 dated specimen of the M1A1 pattern;

It seems that I have a soft spot for `62 dated helmets both from the
Bundesheer and the Bundeswehr (I am also from `62)
Unfortunately the helmets I show you are in much better condition than I am !

Here a shot of the unworn liner :

When I received the helmet it came with this dust goggles.
Seems to be another seldom encountered BW item patterned after
                  Wehrmacht used equipment.

                  hope you like it !

                    Hi fellow collectors ,

maybe you are interrested to see some new additions to my BW Stahlhelm
                    collection.

Some weeks ago I stumbled across this 1963 dated M1A1 Stahlhelm that has a real nice overall patina.
I bought this one because it is my first PSL made helmet.
The maker´s mark PSL indicates the firm of Paul Schulze in the city of Lübeck.
Never had one helmet of this maker before.

Here is an overall view of the interior :

After adding this helmet to my collection I stumbled across this very nice
1962 dated recruiting pamphlet of the Bundeswehr.

Here you see the cover of this little gem .

The pamphlet contains some very nice upclose pics that are very interresting for me as a helmet guy.

Very interresting is the fact that the M1A1 helmets are being worn with the
                          "old" style net .

                          Here are some pics :

An especially nice pic of a Panzergrenadier from the last page of the
                                pamphlet.
