Der Untergang - Spot the mistakes

    Let's start shall we?

For your critical eye. I give you the reichs Heini and Hermann Fegelein. I count 3.

Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

Ok, here's what i see on Fegelein.

    1. The CCC in Gold when he never was awarded one.

    2. He was a Gruppenführer

3.He was awarded the Swords to his RK+EL in July '44.

Thats what i noticed too, Simon. One other scene, i remember, was a 20 year old with a ribbonbar with WW1 awards on it I wonder, who was their military advisor? None of us, like it seems

Don't forget the poor camo! Dot covers!? What's this? It's fantasy! And also these terrible quality repro smocks etc.. Furthermore a "Tiger 1" in Berlin in 1945!?

The SdKfz were all czech ones I think....
Then there was that one doctor, they called him "Oberst". He had rank insignia of an SS-Obersturmbannführer if I remember corectly. I expected more from that movie....But anyways it's just a movie.

The other mistake is that the guy on the right froze to death in Stalingrad. He clearly could not have been around in 1945

Regarding the Tiger 1, there where in fact some in the capital city of Germany in 45.

Here is one, one of the last of Pz.Div Müncheberg

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

                      Hans,

that is very interesting, I always thought there were only Tiger2s but no Tiger1s in Berlin. Really, very interesting. Do you know how many they had left?

I do need to appologize, the film crew did a great job regarding the Tiger1 .

                      Paddywhak,

Indeed! But still I think that more Tiger2 survived the war than Tiger1. Although the one in the movie was a "build one" from an T34 I think.

I am pretty sure Wili Fey mentions Tiger 1s in his Book Panzer battles of the Waffen SS.

The Reichfuher would never be caught dead in a hat that looked like it got run over by a truck! First thing I noticed in this scene in the movie.

I personally was thrilled the smocks looked so bad, we wont have to contend with a bunch of, "just discovered in a barn in Berlin" repros hitting the market

                          Chris,

HAHAHAHHAHAHA, yes, nice cap has the Reichsheini; twisted Kordel, loose eagle etc.

I read the "Fey" book, I can't remember any Tiger1s, though it's some years ago when I read it, also the foto is one I never saw before.....Today I learned something!! Thanks for that guys!!.

Yes, the whole camo was crap. I believe they had all camo from a company from southern germany. Their camo is the worst type of "serial production" repro I have ever seen. The producers should have taken a look at some US vendors instead.

                          Cheers

I'll have to see if i can try some screen captures on the DVD.
In another scene when the HJ boy makes his way home you see en EKII doc lying on a table and i swear it had an AH signature

Yes, that was supposed to be an AH signature and that HJ boy received his EK2 from AH in front of the bunker in one scene.....

                              Cheers
