                I believe that the Japanese plan was to kill all Allied POW's if an invasion of the Home Islands occurred.

                      Even before ww2 officially started, the Japanese were being quite barbaric, re: The Nanking Massacre, really quite shocking.

                        To me, the information offered in the link, seems contradictory to some of the views expressed in previous comments . . .
