I liked the film...for the most part. Very interesting take on the American soldier. At the end it is was bit "The Little Sherman that could" - a well placed Panzerfaust would have abruptly ended the film...but overall nice.

Does Brad Pitt not like Germans?

Well, in reality and in the movie he speaks German. He obviously has some respect for German culture.

Uh...if you speak German then you know that he was just speaking lines....for a German Speaker his German is a bit tough to understand and speaking German does not necessarily denote respect for the culture.

Don't worry - it was just a question.

I will go see the movie and probably enjoy it for what it appears to be, a good entertaining war flick

I do not care if the Schwabian extra speaks in the wrong dialect , it is a film not a documentary

            good

I just came home from viewing the film. Thought it was pretty good and entertaining for a war buff. A little far fetched at the end like saving Private Ryan was but nonetheless entertaining and fairly graphic in some scenes.

            Better than no war movie

I also saw the movie after months of anticipation. What a let down. The movie gets an A+ for uniforms, equipment and combat vehicles. But, yet again, Hollywood gets an F on the script/storyline and an F casting that joke of an actor (Brad Pitt) as the main character. Shame on Hollywood for screwing up something that could have been a classic.

Hi Owen, respectfully, I would have strived to make the storyline more believable. It was just too much Hollywood fantasy. The main battle against the SS was just too far fetched, and it just completely lost me.

In terms of casting, instead of casting Brad Pitt, I would have casted someone more convincing. If the actor had to be famous, cast someone like a younger version of Fred Ward or Bruce Willis. I understand that casting Brad Pitt in a movie will guarantee attendance by a certain demographic. Brad Pitt has his place in movies about metrosexuals and "will they marry?" movies. But I am sorry, when it comes to combat movies, he just ain't right.

Having said the above, as mentioned in my prior post, the attention to detail in uniforms, weapons, vehicles, etc. was outstanding. The potential for being a classic WWII film was there.

Went to the movie solely to see ss uniforms

But most scenes with ss uniforms were filmed in darkness (at the end of the movie) or against bright-light background (house in flames) so all I saw were black contours of soldiers or Germans were showed for a fraction of second (tiger tank commander).
So much was said about accuracy of uniforms in the movie and not so much seen.

Other than that, brad swallowed bunch of bullets but just couldn't die. Potato mashers exploited under his nose and he was still sitting like new.

But I really loved the scene when they attacked german artillery in the bushes. That was very impressive and I liked it even better than the tanks duel with the tiger.

Ps oh almost forgot on existing a movie theater we (my half and I) were interview by tv and two days later I saw myself in Moscow news on TV for the fist time! But only for about 3 seconds :-) saying "worth-seeing-movie" but they showed my wife for much longer hm

Let's make a sliding scale. Sound of Music far left, Fury farthest right. Those who slide more towards Sound of Music I will put in Supply, those who slide towards Fury go to the Front.

Some like to listen to music and dance, some like the rip of a dancing belt in an MG42.

I like Star Wars, story line very accurate and the uniforms amd weapons nearly spot on. I know this how, because of my ability to travel to the future. And btw those of you that think your collections are an investment, bad news lies ahead. J

My favourite scene as well, that first ricochet(-sound) was
And the four Shermans attacking in line formation, cool!
