    respect to your father.

However, seeing brainless zombies..well SS regiment, charging one tank... that was way too much for me..

          What about the Dambusters?

Surely the original 1950s film "The Dambusters" must be one of the greatest? Original Lancasters, throaty Merlins at low level, actors that actually looked like (and were) men of the time rather than pumped up modern day gym freaks stuffed into period costume ..... with shiny white teeth untouched by black coffee or nicotine that you could see from 20,000 feet .....running around emoting and screaming like a bunch of drama queens ....

Here is my take on that film: The first time I saw it I hated it, tracers everywhere and totally absurd plot and storyline. The second time I watched it I took the viewpoint of watching a comic book like the sgt rock and GI Combat ones I read as a kid. It's just a movie, with Brad Pitt basically playing the same schtick he played in Inglorious Basterds and with that attitude, I enjoyed it.
Today if asked what my favorite ww2 movie is? Kelly's Heroes.

                Too many.....!

This is impossible... but a few that I don't think have been mentioned. No particular order: Downfall, Paths of Glory, Waterloo (much maligned but impressive set pieces),The English Patient, Deer Hunter, Casablanca, Ice Cold in Alex, Sparticus, Black Book, Schindler's List, The Killing Fields, The Pianist, The Outlaw Josey Wales (A Western!), Lawrence of Arabia... and the greats that others have mentioned: Apocalypse Now, Das Boot, Where Eagles Dare, Saving Private Ryan, Zulu.... it goes on forever! I've got to stop now... All Quiet on the Western Front.... somebody stop me!

I always liked Von Ryan's Express and The Secret of Santa Vittoria...

Very old school I know, but I still enjoy them today...

Probably watched it a thousand times, but I still enjoy viewing the 1969 movie "The Battle Of Britain"..... a true classic !!

Worth a view is 'The Hill' about a British penal jail in WW 2 North Africa.
Stars Sean Connery before he became so famous.
