            Then why, Craig, did you initially claim the passport was authentic, then backtrack (after I spoke to you with my concerns) and say it "might" be a contemporary forgery?

            Why, Craig, in the face of unrelenting criticism, do you still refuse to reveal any findings, when you all but dropped your pants on television?

            Why, Craig, do you refuse to reveal images of the passport, refuse to reveal who your "very serious scholarly entities" are, refuse to reveal the name of the seller, and refuse to reveal their specialties? Even to an impartial third party?

            Why, Craig, does every critical thread to which you respond begin with an excuse for your extended absence?

            Why, Craig, do you insult people here, especially me, when I tried to help you - and you turned me away?

            Why, Craig, did you or your proxy change the Wikipedia entry for Mengele and vandalize the Alexander entry?

            And why, Craig, do you consistently misspell my name? It's P-A-N-A-G-O-P-U-L-O-S. I can arrange to have it tattooed to the inside of your eyelids, if you'd like.

              Again, my point proven exactly. A SMALL but vocal group of forum bullies who repeatedly make a mockery out of the scholarship both available and present here. That, and those who feel entitled to information on THEIR terms, and on THEIR schedule. Sarcasm and rudeness rule the day, I'm sad to say. No matter, my earlier statement remains.

                    Mr. Gottlieb, I have bought from you before, spoken to you on the phone and found you very helpful. I appreciate your customer service and attention to detail. But this... I'm sorry. I am truly sad to see it go down like this. Who do you think you are fooling? Why would you run to the press to break this story before completing research that apparently has been ongoing for four months now? Why would you be pitching this to the media before getting the answers? And you expect us to believe that you are building a tremendous case which could go either way? "I know it's real... I'm going to have images reproduced in larger format for museum use... for me this is the most important thing I’ve ever owned... People asked me how I know when something’s real, and I have a hard time explaining it. I just know... This was a self-authenticating artifact."

                    You've gone on record with that- those are your own words. You have been shouting from the rooftops that this thing was real, promoting it, now you are in the midst of an authentication process that is going to take a lot of time? Where, exactly, is the logic in that? In what universe does that make any sense at all? And the Wikipedia entries...                     Shameful, really. Tremendously embarrassing. I've never been a part of the dealer hating crowd, and it's nothing personal, but I'm going to give the same comments I would give any Forum member who created such an absurd predicament: man up, take the blame, accept reality and move on. You've screwed up and now even if the thing is real you've managed to bungle it.

                        I'm sorry ... I'm fooling nobody, nor am I trying to. Has it not POSSIBLY occurred to you that this story is part of a larger project? Has it NOT occurred to you that I might POSSIBLY have plans that fall outside the scope or interest of the forum? I didn't say I would NOT share my findings, but that I am not sharing them here, and yet. Why is that so hard not to understand?

                        As I said earlier, if I was "fooled" I will obviously be man enough to admit it, but I am just NOT going to be providing play-by-play fodder here, because I have OTHER things to consider. Obviously, I don't enjoy having my name dragged through the mud ... why would I stay conspicuously silent unless I had a GOOD REASON to do so. I can't be clearer enough.

                        In fairness, I did just read the Wikipedia entry (I have a publicist, which many may find alarming). I do agree that it should come down, and have asked them to do this.

                            So what I (and others) presented wasn't "valid" enough in your eyes? If not, whose "scholarship" is being mocked? Yours? I haven't seen anyone post anything supporting your claim that the passport was a contemporary original, or fake.

                            Here are the names of some IMO very dubious "forensic examiners" in advance of the unveiling of your "research":

                            Christopher Morales, Don Frangipani, Drew Max (a terrible examiner and a co-star with you on Pawn Stars!), CCSA...and a lot more which don't come to mind.

                              They are being paid because their audience is not here, and they get me regular gigs on TV and in the news. And that brings me more artifacts, which brings me profit for my business and family, as well as collectibles for you. It's not complicated. I so preferred the Norovirus to this. Why can't I be sick again!
