      After the ceremony the Vets were taken by WW2 military vehicles to a reception hosted by the Mayor.

        Here is our group. We were about to set off in a convoy of vehicles to the US cemetry. We were dressed in Khaki Drill tropical weight uniform which was ideal for the hot weather. The girls wore "FFI uniform".

                      The Superintendent of the Rhone US cemetry sang the US, British and French National Anthems. This was the first time he had sang "God Save the Queen" and he did it very well. He confessed later he had a crib sheet in his hand just in case he forgot the words
