It was a really good tour... great company, great booze, great cigars, mostly great food, interesting stuff to see....

Just simply amazing. It's eye opening to see what nature has reclaimed after almost 100 years but how many scars still remain and there is no doubt at the level of destruction and horror that took place here. You wonder what happened later in life with the men that actually survived the battle, talk about PTSD. It would be nice to see this thread moved to the virtual museum section.

The lasting effect was the destruction of 14 villages that could not be rebuilt on thier original sites. Of these we stopped at three, Bezonvaux, Ornes, and Fleury. I've already covered Fleury so on to Bezonvaux. The villages were allowed to rebuild their churches so that the former residents could come and pray at the sites of their former village.pseudo-expertComment
