Thanks for the correction Chris. I remember both stories now. Now back to our story.
Fighting towards Ft Vaux and Souville was bogged down so the Germans decided to launch a series of attacks along the other bank of the Meuse. They attacked from Malancourt (10) towards (8) le Mort Homme (the Dead Man) and (9) Cote 304 (Hill 304. The fighting here was just as intense as on the other side of the river. Both hills were bombarded into lunar landscapes. The Germans set up an OP in the ruins of a church at (11) Montfaucon to assist in the accuracy of their guns.pseudo-expert
