    the Bulge - a trip 2009

    Hi,

Last weekend I went 2 days to the lovely Ardennes....Guided with the wonderful book of Jean Paul Pallud (Battle of Bulge then and now) I visited some historical battlefield sites.

I want to share some photo's.

the route continued to Bullingen and tModerscheid, where 7 soldiers were buried....

The farmer/landowner we spoke to, did not know that there was a graveyard back then in december 1944.

Then to small villages like Schoppen, Ondenval, Thirimont to Baugnez....

SS Oberfuhrer Mohnke had his command post in Hotel du Moulin.
