    14) The bridge:

      15) After the US-troops had crossed the bridge and had reached "Kommerscheidt", they were pushed back by the germans. Other german units had in the meantime re-captured the bridge, and the US-troops were cut off. On Nov. 7 1944 Stabsarzt Dr. Stüttgen made arrangements for a fire-pause, to save the wounded GIs. Thats been his own decission.

      This memorial was errected exactly 68 years later:
