    Tim,

    Time flies fast, too fast.

I was in Berchtesgaden twice last year, once in June and again at the end of October. I walked past where you described where that militaria shop was on both tips several times and never noticed it (or the sign in the window)! What was in the shop downstairs, was it a pottery shop?

    Cheers,

    Brad

      Brad,

The Glossners' antiques shop has been closed for a few years (both the one in the arcades and the one just down the street from the Marktplatz fountain). Frau Glossner now runs one of those "medieval dinner" touristy sort of things ... she also does a night watchman tour. I don't know for sure, but I get the idea her husband has passed away ... he was the one who actually had the militaria, at one time in the old attic and at one time in the basement "bunker." I believe she still has some antique furniture, but she told me a couple years ago that the militaria is all gone.

        Geoff,

Thanks for the note. That explains why I didnt see the sign for the Militaria shop upstairs. I usually don't miss those sorts of things.

Fortunate enough to be making another trip to Berchtesgaden again at the end of this month. Perhaps we can plan a day?

        Cheers

        Brad

Had to look over my shoulder several times in the Hofgarten to make sure Adolph, Ernst and the others were not sitting next to me...

On the Obersalzberg, there was still one tower keeping watch.

Site wouldn't upload last night... Here are the last few feet to the Mooslahnerkopf.

You need to see these places before they are completely eradicated...

So, just like Mr. Smelly Kat, my EKII was carefully photographed with the "Haus" driveway in the background. Yes, Frau Scharfenberg thankfully is maintaining the Turken... But for how long? It's pretty much the last of the last that you can still "get the feeling of the 30's..."

Lots more pictures, took movies of the tunnels, fun stuff! Here's an apartment you might recognize in Munich. Gelli still walks the streets unhappily...

Here is what is left of the villa bought for Eva. Just sad.... My guess, the neighbors chipped in and bought it and tore it down to discourage 'us'...
