                    (16.6.40) The battle of “La Motte hill” in Vesoul.


                    The “La Motte hill” (263 feet [384 metres]) is now in sight as we are approaching Vesoul, the city lies between this isolated conical hill and the Durgeon River. The hill is crowned by a votive chapel and a statue of Virgin Mary. / A burning village near Vesoul.
