Thank you so much for posting the HUBE letter. I am a huge Hube fan, and he was the Chef of my favorite unit, 16. Pz.Div.
I like you collect any 16.Pz. items.
          Thanks again.

            I Markus,

Did you have any details of how Wisch received his Swords of the
            knights cross?

Who bestowed this awards and where?

                Wisch

Sorry, for the delayed reply, but I was in Hamburg last week and only returned yday nite.

Bake: The swords were given for leadership and personal bravery during the battles around Falaise and Caen, where Wisch was so seriously wounded that he spent the rest of the war in the SS hospital at Hohenlychen and behind a desk at the SS-Führungshauptamt.

Luftsturm: Yes, I picked up some items from the Wisch estate and some related to him and the 1./LAH. Moreover lots of LAH photos, incl. armor.

Th. Wisch / 1st Party Book

                    Teddy Wisch's 1st edition Partybook issued Feb. 12th 1932.
The book includes entries for participation in various party days and meetings, pre-war promotions, permission to carry the SS honor dagger and last, but not least the confirmation for the entry into the LAH as one of the first 117 men in Feb. 1933.

                      Truppenkameradschaft - 1./Kompanie LAH

I also got some nice post-war photo material of the 1. Kompanie LAH (Wisch's unit until after the Polish Campaign), including a large photo album from a 1993 meeting in Kassel, a VHS tape from a 1992 reunion, I have not seen yet (mistery!) and many, many other shots from post war vet events. (shown here only a small portion of all the photos)

For me personally this material represents an extension of the unit's history and is therefore very much collectible in the historical sense.

                        Single document

I owned a single piece of paper with the names of 8 of the original Nurmanburg trial war crimminals on it....miss that one!

                          Ehrenring der 1. Kompanie

Here is another nice post-war LAH group coming from the estate of the former president of the 1./LAH Kameradschaft HStuf. Willy Stratmann.

It includes his 1./LAH honorring and his wife's 1./LAH honor clasp for their loyal services to the Kameradschaft.

Included is a full list of the little more than 100 persons presented with the
ring and clasps throughout the years.

"Teddy" Wisch and Albert Stenwedel were amonst the first 5 members of the Kameradschaft to be presented their rings in 1981.

My particular ring of Willy Stratmann was given to him by Wisch personally in 1983 in Hersfeld.

Other recipients incl. Martin Gross (1984), Otto Günsche (1984) and Hein Springer (1985).

                                Markus-

Are the Oaks and swords a original example, and if so can they be attributed?

Also, who's Soldbuch is shown in post #200?

                                Thanks,
                                Rob
