              Hello Heinz!

Yes, but no longer active, since I do not live in Germany anymore.

I used to be in the Freundeskreis of the HIAG-Hamburg as well.

                              An anecdote

I would like to share one of my favorite "Wisch" - anecdotes from the
"1st Company - Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler" book with you:

                              Quote:

                              This was our Teddy Wisch<O</O
                              <O</O

In April 1941, as the commanding officer of the IV Battalion in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State><ST1Berlin</ST1</st1:State>, Teddy Wisch gives his Battalion-Sergeant (a member with the 1st Company since 1935) the order to clarify some administrative issues at the SS-Führungshauptamt. (SS-Main Leadership Office)<O</O
                              <O</O

The clerk in charge is however not in his office and apparently to lunch.<O</O
The battalion-Sergeant heads off to the mess hall to look for the man.
The Sergeant is as usual correctly dressed and inside the building carries his service cap on his left side under tugged his prothesis. Finally inside the mess hall he asks for the clerk in question. <O</O
                              <O</O

At this very moment an SS-Hauptsturmführer “B.” – Assistant to the Führungshauptamt Chief Jüttner - crosses his way. <O</O
The SS-HStuf. “B.” yells at him and orders him to stand at attention, insults him as a “Half-Soldier” !<O</O
                              <O</O

The Battalion-Sergeant makes a 180° turn, leaves the SS-Führungshauptamt and heads straight back to the LAH Lichterfelde barracks. Upon arrival there he immediately reports the incident to his CO, Teddy Wisch, and announces that the will issue a full style written complaint about this HStuf. "B." within 24 hours. <O</O
                              <O</O

The CO, Th. Wisch, does not say much, only: “You will hear from me”. <O</O
                              <O</O

At 14:00 hours the same day, Wisch orders his sergeant to his office, gives him the order to put on all medals and badges and to be at the entrance of the SS-Führungshauptamt, Kaiserallee at 14:55, to leave his coat at the guard and to knock on SS-HStuf. “B.´s” door at <st1:time Hour="15" Minute="0">15:00</st1:time> hrs. -sharp-.<O</O
                              <O</O

And so it goes: Hauptsturmführer “B.” opens the door, let’s the Battalion-Sergeant enter and closes the door.
Behind the door stands Teddy Wisch and Hauptsturmführer “B.” has to ask the Sergeant for apologies.<O</O
                              <O</O

A written complaint had become obsolete. – The sergeant has not forgotten this unique attitude of his CO until today. <O</O
                              <O</O

( From “12 Years 1st company Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler – A book of comradeship” DVG Publishing House )<O</O
                              <O</O
                              <O
                              Unquote
                              </O
                              <O</O
<OThis is how a group of documents to a certain indivdual comes to life and I guess that is why I am so fond of collecting papers and photos and hardly any uniforms, headgear or medals.
                              </O
                              <O</O
<OHope you have enjoyed this little tale. If you did I can definitely recommend the a.m. book. </O
