      Very nice group

You should try and get his awards and uniforms aswell IF they survived the war or maybe they are in some other collection... must be worth a bus load of money

Thank you for your kind comment.

Like with many medal+doc groups, the probability for them to have been added is very high, so I will always refrain from buying medals supposedly attributed to a certain personality. The Wisch group was offered for auction 10 years ago and the medals were very likely added to enhance value. A uniform never survived to my knowledge.

Here a small sample from the auction:

Another nice shot taken sometime in Sept. 1941.

I wonder whether that KC is really a KC or rather not an Iron Cross 2nd Class?

                Seems quite small.

Lehmann's divisional history mentions that, when the official "Funkspruch" for the KC was handed over to Wisch, his men improvised a KC from an EK2. Maybe it's the same piece in this photo?

I just self-answered my question...looking at the photos below, which depict the same moment as above, I guess we can conclude that he wears the formal KC already, he had received by courier same days after receipt of the award notification.

                        Hello Markus

Very focused collection you have and thnaks for sharing. Is it Joseph Diefenthal standing on the right side?

                        Regards Erwin

                          Jupp

                          Erwin,

Yes, though I am not 100 pct., I believe it is later KC recipient
Josef "Jupp" Diefenthal standing next to Teddy Wisch.

On this shot he is Obersturmführer and Wisch's Btl. or Rgt. Adjudant (IIa).

Down below period signature in a book given to Wisch on his 36th bithday on Dec.13th, 1942 and signed
additionally by 7 other members of Wisch Rgt. at the time:

I was thinking the same, Markus. I have always been fascinated by kampfgruppe Peiper. Joseph Diefenthal was also with this kampfgruppe during the battle of the bulge. The signature looks like the name Diefenthal. Greg W probaby can tell you more

Thanks for sharing this fine collection

                            regards Erwin

Standing next to 'Teddy' in post #112 looks like Lehmann to me...I know 'Jupp' served as his adjutant, but I'm not sure I see him here?
