A highly anticipated and at the same time unexpected piece... Let me explain.
The case is that I decided to sell several things to achieve my dream which is the own one day a Grand Cross of the order of Eagle in German, one day I saw a unique opportunity, talked to the seller on this forum and this reserved the coveted part... was fortunate to sell material for the desired value and the great help of my friend Aenobarbo to get this great piece to come to Spain. I paid him what has been agreed and the seller said that he would send the piece... weeks before told me that there were other collector from USA interested in the piece by which could not delay in payment.
The case is that a week after payment, the seller tells me that the piece was lost and we rid dealing with my consequent anger and suspicion that had been sold to the other collector who would offer him more money. I found myself again with money but without the coveted order so I looked for other targets and started talks with HELMUT WEITZE to bring me to Spain another of my dreams who was to own this beautiful and rare to find piece in place:
GERMAN EAGLE ORDER WITH STAR WITHOUT SWORDS BY DRESCHLER & SOHN
The 1937 Design, is totally different from the later-manufactured by Godet &Co.
It is assumed that it was manufactured by Deschler & sohn, although I have no evidence that this theory apoten accepting sellers like Weitze or emedals
Thanks M. It's obvious that an other producer than Godet produced the 1937 edition of the DAO and perhaps it was Deschler. BUT, I think one should be very careful to repeat the claims of a dealer as established "facts", regardless of who the dealer might be. Both dealers you refer to have excellent militaria for sale, but non of them are flawless. If you study their ads, you'll notice both of them have incorrect descriptions of the products and that is on DAO specificly. So let's leave this question open, until we find some real evidence of this theory
I agree that there is no real evidence that was Deschler manufacturer of these first order of the German Eagle but, in the absence of evidence indicating that it was another manufacturer and since it is clear that it was not Godet & Co. at the moment will be thinking about Deschler & Sohn as the manufacturer more likely... each one is free to think whatever he wants and I agree in what you say Weitze and emedals.
However, I must add that a little researching the marks prior to the production of the order of the German Eagle, I noticed that badges made by Carl Dilenius resemble characteristics of hinge, needle, and catching especially marking mark... look at the details of this 1914 EK1 atributed to this manufacturer:
Maybe there are differences in the hinges and caught the two badges if we look at them well, but the two markings give much to think not you think?
Although this similarity in the markings does not indicate anything... While there is no more evidence, for my the orders of the Eagle German 1937 manufacturer will remain Deschler...
