The second of my Honour goblet groups. This one is to Stabsfeldwebel Werner Ketting of 4th/6th staffel KG55. the group consists of his Honour Goblet, Soldbuch, Radio operator/air gunners licence, a large number of documents including his DKiG document and some photos. Before the war he served with KG154 and KG254 both predecessors of KG55. From September 1939 to August 1942 he was with II gruppe KG55 in 4th and 6th staffel and took part in the Polish and French campaigns, the Battle of Britain, the Blitz and the invasion of Russia. He had flown well over one hundred combat mission and was awarded the EKII, EKI, Honour Goblet, Frontflug spange in Bronze, Silver and Gold, The Krim Shield and the German Cross in Gold. From August 1942 to April 1945 he served as an instructor in the Luftkriegsschule 11, near Dresden. In April 1945 he became a paratrooper and served till the end of the war, with the newly formed Fallschirmjager Regiment 30, of the also new-formed 10th Fallschirmjager Division operating in Austria. Werner Ketting survived the war, and returned to his home in Giessen, he was also a member of the KG55 veterans association. (There are some really nice signatures in this group)
