I was in Normandy on the 5-8th of June 2010 for the anniversary of D-Day.
While I was there, I picked up a few things along the way:
1. German 88 shell casing picked up 1-2 miles up the coast from utah beach: it is discussed in this thread (this tells about how I got it:

2. I bought this Musette pack dated 1943--I like it because it is well used.
3. Rutenber Electric Co. Canteen dated 1943 discussed in this thread:
http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=447341
4. Terrible condition German canteen--1941, I bought it because it was inexpensive and I didnt have a german canteen yet.
5,5,5. Shrapnel and a 50. cal shell casing picked up along with #1 behind Stp9 bunkers, Utah beach. (read the begining of the thread linked to in #1)
6. US M1 Garand shell casing the owner of the La Fiere Bridge B&B gave to me--they dug them up next to the bridge
7. German Artillery soldbuch--not related to Normandy, but still interesting

8. Relic German bayonet--they said they dug it up in normandy but you can never believe that, it was inexpensive so I bought it.
9. US M3 combat knife Utica gaurd marked.
10. A little coin that has the name of one of the places I visited.
11. A few US Army Generals gave their patches to me because they loved that I am sooo interested in history (I am only 13) They were in the jump over La Fiere -- One of them gave me his jump wings.
So thats it, great new additions to my collection
