Help with a few entries from my German Artillery Soldbuch

Most of the entries in my soldbuch I know what they mean. There are quite a few that I cant read or dont understand.

I have numbered the pictures (top one in a series of two: top-1 bottom-2----top3,bottom-4)

Can you help me translate these entries:

    Swayne

            Thanks Hank

Can any of you help me with the letter(6-7), field unit(3), or the entrie about the K98(1)?

            Thanks, Swayne

Looks to me like the 98k entry is the issue confirmation with receipt nr. I think since it's lined through, it means it was returned.

The feldpost looks sort of "standard", i.e., I received your letter, I'm fine, all's going well, etc.

These men would do up to the minute military cartography in the field for distribution to front line troops (as well as higher ups behind the line) using up to date information. This was something that would change daily and was very fluid.

You would expect a group like this to be motorized; it just wouldn't be 'on' to have to keep up with the various formations on foot or horseback!

Is there any way to find out what the fate of this man was?

                            Thanks,

I just realized that I dont have any pictures of the 1st page (his name).

I am on vacation now, but when I get home I will post some more pictures.

                              Thanks,
