      Hi Tim
Personally not how I would have placed the eagle, however plenty of photographic evidence to show it wasn't an exact science re application. By example, have a look at p 17 in Kurts Afrikakorps Uniform book for a similar eagle placement on a Pz Officer tunic.

Thx for the comment Paul, as to the cockades, it wasn't an item I set out to specifically to collect, one came from ebay last year, by pure luck I was the only bidder and got it for a 1970's price.

Anytime your in need of one Greg, just pm me or try Matt, he has an outstanding DAK insignia collection.

      Cheers

        Hi Mark

Agree not the common area. But usually take this as a positive sign, not negative, as the fakers/ dealers know where the eagle on a tropical tunic is "supposed" to be.... just like some bad locations for the tk's etc.

Does not distract from the very nice tunic imo. And of course the matching M40

        cheers
        Tim

I am looking for some info on this DAK ring that we found in my Dad's belongings after he passed recently.
All we know is that he purchased it while stationed with the US Army in Germany in the early 1950s.
I am not a collector, but have done a little research and have seen several similar rings here in this forum and elsewhere.
We would really like to know the approximate value of this ring so that we can possibly pass it on to someone who will appreciate it.
Any additional info would be appreciated as well.

          Thanks!

W/ pouches. Lovely rich dog-sh*t brown color tone to the pouches and bayonet handles.

"And in wear w/ M-42!" I was fortunate to consolidate such an unusual evenly toned and subtle fair wear to the uniform ensemble from head to toe on this dude.

Since we don't see too much KM here on this thread; maybe not quite DAK but a Sudfront yes, like most of the stuff here. This could well illustrate service in the Afrika area of eligibility.

Once again, nice material and congratulations to all for the added acquisitions. Thanks for sharing and keeping the thread electrified! Will eventually be posting more of my tropical dummies and collection soon.
