Awsome tunic Greg. That would have looked great with the cap as the fading is a nice match.

            Greg,

great cap, yeah that old 2nd model tunic of mine would have been a great match for it. Ah well we can't keep it all man, you'll find another at some point. I know Mark has got ya for the insignia, but if not I got a spare removed 3rd model and the selection of birdies to help ya out. Matt

Hey Thanks Matt appreciate it very much. I'm going to try get the old girl back, I now have a closer matching pair of later EM trop boards that would look nice on it as well.

Very attractive ring, the square insert looks copper or is it Rose gold?
Either way a stand out ring

                    Steve,

I have several like this but never had them tested. They don't tarnish so I have always figured they are probably very thinly pounded gold. Its what I would consider an "officer ring" as its much bulkier than the typical ones that street vendors made form melted coin silver (though I do love those!) and its marked T800 on the side or this one looks to possibly be T900 I won't know for sure till I get home. Ive posted pics of my ring collection before but i'll repost for everyones viewing pleasure. Matt

A couple of these are over at Greg B's house (top row 2 rings to the left) but still a nice selection in my opinion. There are a few additional shots of a couple of my rings on or around pg 107 if im not mistaken. I do enjoy these rings. Matt

Here is a wee update with the cap that I restored with used insignia kindly supplied by Mark G.

This cap is quite interesting in that as a later M40 with RB No' dated 1943 it is more in the styal of the earlier caps both in quality and its general highness. The peak as well comes out further although the cap it self does not have the stiffness that both early and later caps have.

Currently in the e-stand uniform section there is an unissued 1st pattern tunic for sale in the exact same matarial still with its manafacturing markings. Up till now I had only seen a 2nd and 3rd pattern trop-tunic in this same matarial.

Anyway here are some befor & after pics of the restoration of this cap.

Close up and pics of the 1st pattern tunic and its lable from the estand. Could this be the maker for all these mustard coloured tropical tunics and caps? Were they producing these caps from earlier patterns ?
