I had submitted this to the shoulder strap thread, the only tropical strap manufactured with embroidery (IMO) for Wach Bataillon Afrika:

That's quite a nice strap and very scarce OSS. I had thought about adding it to the collection when I saw it for sale recently but had another purchase to take care of. If it were still for sale I would have snapped it up by now.

I'm glad I grabbed it, these are extremely rare and as I said before the only embroidered tropical straps IMO.

OK now we're making them look common, they really are extremely rare:

Now we're talking, that is one very nice looking pair OSS.
The only other embroidered boards that I recall seeing were PzRegt5 which I would love to find.

The only example I have seen I believe was tampered with. I don't believe any numbered tropical straps were produced during the war.

No they were never factory produced or produced on any kind of scale by units, but I certainly have seen one pair that was period done by the soldier. I believe that they are in a US collection, a very faded tan pair with 5's hand embroidered.
