Outstanding DAK set up Greg, Really nice to see your collection posted here.
The Art straps are very special with all the use in Afrika they have seen,,,,The wear on the tresse speaks volumes But the Afrika ct on the Pz tunic looks silly since these were not worn in Afrika. Still great stuff

    Heia Safari !

Thanks Tim for your comments, however the AFRIKA CT will NEVER be removed by me while I own the tunic....Silly or not -

The title is period applied and oviously applied later on while the vet continued to use this tunic in 43. On examination by my self and others there is a clear shade difference between the ware/fade of the tunic and by pulling back of the title where there were some lose threads.

I know Tim you like to place things in there little time frame boxes but you need you to realise Mate things overlap and often!!

Of course everything does have its time frame including these Ct's. Not sure when i said to remove it though ?
Thanks for the added info on this Ct. So that nice Pz jacket represents the post DAK period then in Europe. Thats cool too

Again looking at the Art straps would like to know the history with them as they are some of the best i have ever seen...

          Hi Greg,
The straps are definitely fantastic looking originals and I'm looking forward to confirmation of the actual colour.
Here is a very nice faded pair of panzer straps that I was lucky enough to get a while ago.
I just love these well used and faded examples.

Another great set of DAK straps from You. Agree these well faded and used straps really tell the story and hardship living/working in the desert. So much better than any mint or non-issued items.

Here is an incredible looking pair of PzGren straps which Tim has just asked me to post on his behalf.
They are stunning and definitely a set that I'd love to add to the collection.
Note the different shades of cloth used on the tongues; this is quite common in matching sets.
Thanks for asking me to show them Tim. I always love seeing items like this.

Stunning boards Mark, interesting it seems to be more the greenish twill that fades back to such a bleached appearance or do you think they have undergone a period bleaching prosess.

WOW those Pz Gren boards are fantastic Tim and show the identical ware to the tress as the ones I have reacently aquired. I guess both Y straps & haversack use has contributed to the ware.

                  Greg,
I have quite a few faded sets, both tan and olive green. This pair definitely appear to have undergone a bleaching process that has contributed to a higher degree of fading, especially considering that the uppers were once olive green.

Thanks Mark for posting these up. Underneath the pips the shadow matches the area that the buttons covered. Very interesting that you think your Pz straps are sunfaded and bleached, fairly common occurance that gives them that special look.

Greg, the wear on the tresse on your wonderful set could also be from Binos ?
Just great to see these true DAK items, with appreciation

Thanks Steve, appreciate it, I never get sick of seeing your Pz Pioniere gear either.

The Pz Tunic was the highlight of my finds for 2011. It along with a pair of matching tropical straight trousers had spent the best part of 60 years in a haversack in Germany.

Unfortunately I missed out on the trousers which makes me sick everytime I think about it. Straps were on the tunic (totally matching to tunic) cuffs have been sewen up, pockets sewen down and clear evidence where sculls had been.
EK Ribbon was in pocket and eagle had been removed.

Here is an overall pic of the tunic when I first receaved it, still in a very dishevelled /wrinkled state. But gives you an Idea how it sat for all those years.

                                Tunic just talks to you.

love your Pz tunic Mark & always have !!!

I am about to undergo a build of a 1:1 scale Pz III copola to fit my Pz nco. Will update as I progress with it.
