    Excellent result Thierry
Before it was for garbage now it is for display. Well done

Are you using solely the air brush or also a hair brush for your repaints?

I got today 2 Webster heads and i will try to do my first attempt

      Hi Don!

Thanks for your kind (and true) comments
I Only use paint brushes (I don't know how to use air brush ) and 4 colors as shown...after it's mixtures, time...and a little bit of know-how of course!

        Thanks for your reply Thierry.
Only 4 colors???? Jesus. I was expecting to see a pile of Humbrol paints.
Interesting. I need to re-read this thread for tips.
The unshaved look and the hair effect you can achieve gave me the impression that you were using an air brush that's why i asked. I guess you are using your fingers to spread the colors like Mark has shown on the first pages right?

...not at all in my case, I keep clean fingers as well after as before...only brush of various size, 4 Humbrol colors (+ a touch of blue sometimes for eyes) and effects with various quantity of paint (very few anyway) sometimes really "dry" sometimes more diluted with various manner of painting or movements...and some experience!
But there's no rule or systematic method and I never paint 2 times the same way even on the same base...question of inspiration and/or order requirements.

It's to each one to find his way even if it's with complete different technics or colors. I don't think that Frederik"4th division" or Mark"NZ" use the same way as me and the results is impressive as well...a question of taste.

          Best to All

              Hi to All!

Just finished, another example of "how to make it better"
Based on a (bad) Europe-Mannequin plastic head with poor features but workable physiognomy, asking by customer with "combat look", irregular skin tones, slightly soiled and scratched...and here is the result!
By painting as per above shown, with 4 colors used, paint brushes of all size...and some working hours!

Photos taken in plain outside light which revealed all details but doesn't forgive defects...and there's! but means that, in inside display configuration, with diffuse lighting, the final look and facial expression of the mannequin (dressed) will be almost...alive!

              Best to All!
              Thierry

              Before...

              ...& After!

At home waiting for coming back to the owner...

Chris - I only use brushes as well - no fingers(?)
My first Japanese mannequin. I thought I'd add a bit of character - eye wounds were common...
This is a European head with some subtle re-shaping.
Great to see additions to this thread

                        Hi Mark!

Nice to get your updates on that (your) thread...and to see your superb Japanese samouraï mannequin...so unusual and original compare to the large majority of Landser of all kind usually presented here...a great addition!

                            hello jubilee

When you mix the amount of paint does'tn dry it up faster then you can paint the details, i have been busy since i am home from work from a operation, and i have still some time ,,,

i going to practice alot sinc i like your stile of painting mannequin, the only thing i findis when you paint at evening in the kitchen ore so with artificial light collers can be stronger than expexted,,,i use waterbased model paint revell

                            best regards

A Royal Navy Petty Officer (not the right badge on cap as I just used available items for dressing but anyway it will be a German at the end i think...)
