your mannequins head looks just amazing! I like the reddish colour of his eyes very much. And the fact that he isn't just staring out of his eyes, but looking to his left. It gives the impression that he is really looking at something. Can we see some more pictures please??

This is a very high quality Patrick Stewart head that I bought on ebay.

I painted the head and hands with Humbol flat flesh, then did the low areas with Tamiya flesh. Everything was then given a Testors semi-gloss coat. He turned out very well. So now I have the bug, and I would like to find some more high quality heads and get a few more guys dressed up. I have 54 Imperial torso-mannequins with helmets now, so I have a pretty broad selection to choose from.

Time to kick this thread back up to the top.
Here's one of several I've been working on this past month....
Step one - all cast hair sawn off and cavity filled with styrofoam covered in car body filler, eyes re-shaped and nose re-sculpted.
The penciled in eyes keep me focused on how the 'character' needs to be developed...

Next, all over sandable primer applied so I can spot imperfections...

..after these are dealt to, an undercoat of the basic skin tone is applied with a touch of red blended into the highlights...
Once dry this is then re-painted with the final top coat of shaded skin tones.

After this is dry I paint in the eyes using the same process I've described in detail previously.
After that I paint the eyebrows and lips.
Lastly (for painting) is the '5 o'clock shadow'

The shine on the paint is due to the last phase - applying a mix of satin and matt acrylic laquer that gives a realistic skin-sheen to the painted surface, and also dries rock hard to protect the caps etc that will be displayed.
