      Nice job so far, Edwin.
I'd make the hairs more shorter around the ears and the neck.

      Greetings,
      Philipp

        Wow-
Blown away with the hands! Great texture which helps with the realistic impression, but the paint job is superb!
The face is also very cool! The eyes - always the focus of any mannequin - have great colouring for the irises. My only concern is the size of the pupils? These appear way too large?
Hair's always tricky and something I'm not brave enough to attempt myself!
        WONDERFUL STUFF!

                      Hi Guys!

Love this thread. Started with my mannequin this week. It's not easy I must say, but it's looking good. Will show some pics when I am finished.

One question. Who can tell me were to buy some eyebrows?

the eyebrows i use for my mannequins are scratch build. The ones I have seen in stores are really bad and no where close to the real ones

                        cheers

                              My contribution to this thread.

Say hello to Panzer Johann My new project.
Since I have a torso already, I only needed a head. So I had to cut off his shoulders. (as you can see on the pic)

                              Johann after sanding him

                              New skin colour.

Now came the part that was/is tricky.....the skin highlights. I must admit that that is not so easy as it looks. After I was done I came to the conclusion that I highlighted TOO much. Bummer!! BUT, my wife had an idea. She said, try to fade the away the darkest highlights with a sponge and basic skin colour. And since my wife is pretty handy with paint and such I took her advice.

This is how he looks right now. Just painted the eyebrows and coloured the lips.

I am pretty happy with the result. I have you put on some laquer lyers and then he is finished. Will post more pic when I am done.

                              Cheers

                              Erwin

I am surprised no-ones commented on your posting yet, Erwin...
I'm impressed with the skin tone and the use of the sponge - a great idea and one I'll try out for the 'five o'clock shadow' effect (keep your wife a bit longer!)
The preparation work in your initial photos will pay off with the paint keying onto the base surface - let alone the fact it will be a smooth area to work on.
Great to see another collector trying his hand at customizing his display. Well done - and Thanks for posting!
                                Regards,
                                Mark
