Guys,
Fantastic work. Real quality, with the final effect of bringing the display to life - which is the goal I think we intend achieving.
I also have new mannequins on the boil, so will up-date when finished.
Great to see fresh postings
Regards!

Hello,
First of all, i would like to express my thanksfull atentions for your all help trough your answers
A special deep congratulations for you NZ Mark, you’re the guy and a VERY skilled one !! trully
Here are mines, not the best one indeed, but it’s the best i can do with my “2 left hands” ...
The blue eyed guy will be my medic in Normandy, the unshaved a typical GI “somewhere in ETO” till i find out where especially, then the smiling guy will be a 8th Inf Div in Brittany
On the first lay, i was short of paint to cover the top heads, so i decided not to cover it as it will be hide by an helmet
There is sometimes a couple of flaws “on the borders” but it’s covered once the helmets put on
The first lay was missed as it was too bright pink. Then once the second lays (matching now) put on they looked dead ;-). So i put the orange/red bit touch that made them real and laque. Then rub gently with wood pencil dark end burst on the finger
What’s your opinion, please don’t hesitate to say what’s wrong
Here are the main steps ... in pics ...

Nicholas,
Nicely Done! I especially like the smiling character - he just looks like the 'GI's from period photos.
Your pencil shading for that unshaven look is a great touch. It lends a 'blue-ish' tone that would be difficult using paint. I'll try that one myself
If you are fitting these to mannequins I'd like to see them completed and posted at some point?
COOL
Best Regards,
Mark.

Sorry, but IMO they are looking like metrosexual male models from a catwalk in Milano.
They would look better and much more realistiv with lashes, some beards hairs, dirt, scars, wrinkles, shadows under the eyes and so on.
Just let them look like you look at the morning when you had a bottle of cheap whiskey the night before.
Hey! War isn't a Kindergeburtstag!

from many war time pics I see the soldiers often appear to be very young in the face, especially the Germans. many still have that boyish smile on them. true, theres plenty of rough lookin' characters in pictures but I see alot of clean shaven 20 year olds. probably all depends on what day the pic was taken and what was going on at that exact moment.
