    Jeff,
He even looks cold! You've taken the impression a step further, and what a great result. The small details such as the cuts, worn out look in the bloodshot eyes really create a figure that makes me ask myself 'what has this guy gone through?' A lot of work's gone into that.
Jos, great example of what some simple time and effort will result in (and what a collection...)
Greg, about time you showed up here For those that don't know, Greg's a Master Modeller and should check out his previous postings. Stunning craftsmanship, and that shows in these heads. Good to 'see' you again (even though you've gone over to the 'enemy'...when are you going to start a thread in the display section of your kit?)
    Regards,
    Mark.

Hey Mark, Thanks very much for the kind comments, seriously too kind! I enjoy looking over threads such as this one . Its a great way to see and compare and get inspired by all the different and creative ways that collectors like to display their set ups. Like you, I really like to see the combat soldier either in his natural setting and with all the appropriate kit and the way they used/carried it.

Creating a well painted and athenticly dressed soldier for the type of theatre and climate is so important in pulling of a good display ( A good display IMO should touch the soul) ...often it is poorly done in Muesuems etr because the person behind the display doesn't have the same passion/Interest for the subject or the skills required. One thing I really like is how inthusiastic the members are on this thread to create great natural and authentic looking displays... especially you Mark as you constantly do supperb displays both publicly and here on the forum and your passion has never wained that I have always truely respected

Even though I have gone to the dark side, I still embrace a real interest in the German combat soldier and their armour.... that will never leave me and is still the majority of what I model. PS:- I have recently discovered custom 1/6th figure modeling ..check out Tiger Carlico thread in the Modeling section..very inspiring work and can certaily help with 1:1 scale as well.

I'm currently working on two more full Mannequins once completed I will definately post in the display section.

Heres a little snippet so far.

      Greg

                  HOLY FLIRKING SHNIT!!
                  You have been busy
The room is a lot different from the last time I saw it. I gotta say, the decore is much better as the camo finish was a bit distracting from what you had on display, and what you have is worth concentrating on.
Are you going to display at the next MAM's show? You have to - not enough Allied items of quality show up and you boys need to come out and play. I actually think the public are getting tired of the German angle...
Very, very nice. I totally agree with you about museum displays in general. No context taken into account, and very little back-ground knowledge used to complete a display that someone with good knowledge can look at without saying 'Aww, that's on backwards..'
And credit where credits' due, Greg, you sure as sh!t make world class models.
                  Regards,
                  Mark.

                    Thanks again Mark,
Your quite right the camo walls were detracting! and just absorbed and overwelmed everything ...I guess thats what camo does and this is where seeing the way others display gives you ideas, the problem I have now and must be the same for you is I'm starting to run out of room...mannequins do take up a fair bit of it especially full ones.

Yes I was contemplating doing the next MAM show, I did consider it this year but I was in such a transitional upheaval that I thought I would leave it this year . And yes I think having a bit more of an allied flavour to the show could be good for it and offer a balanced contrast...I guess I better work on my desriptions a bit more for headmaster "Barber"

Heres a little something I'm having fun with.

                    Cheers Greg

Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Just finished 'Huey, Luey & Dewey'. These have been altered to a clients specs' who collects flying helmets. All three have been glued and triple screwed to their bases for added strength. I would have made these guys a bit more battle hardened if for my own use, but I think they turned out OK.
Please post more of your own efforts and keep this thread running
                        Regards,
