I've really been inspired by the work shown in this thread and thought I would add my contribution. Here is a head I picked up recently on Ebay:

When I bought this mannequin the whole face was dark brown with severe damage, areas where chipped off and there were a lot of cracks in the face..., took some time to restore, in fact not finished yet, but not bad..

Jeff, Jos. those both came out great. Jeff, I really like the battle look on yours. He looks like a seasoned vet. Glenn

I'm a great fan of the webster heads due to there look/skin texture and size and as I have over a dozen of them on both half and fall manequins have lately been trying to give each one a varied look by airbrushing a few different shades to there complextion and changing eye colours and in the pics below have added some facial hair to both eyebrows and upper lip...ofcoarse he will be a brit- Para!

I spent no longer than an hr on these two heads and finished them of with a mixture of satin/flat waterbased varnish so they will take the knocks a bit better...have since done there eyes which I haven't got pics for yet.

The first pic shows them pre- shaded a darker earth colour in the crevices and shadowed areas.

As this guy represents a Brit para officer in sicily I tried to give him a bit of a tan, I'm also in the prosess of trying to varie there eyebrows either in colour or a type of hair.
