You seriously have an outstanding collection! It was not the first time for me, tacking a good look at your collection. Last time it took me over a complete evening I can remember and I still found new details this time.
I like your KNIL uniforms, there outstanding, not many musea in Holland has such nice stuff in thiere collections! (I might like the fezzes even more, but as a patriotic Dutchman I put the Dutch KNIL and colaboration items on number 1!!)
Thanks Michiel. My wife thinks its a serious problem!!!
Here's something you don't see every day, an osttrüppen breast badge in BeVo, worn sometimes in lieu of a Wehrmacht breast eagle! It's in unissued condition, cut off a roll...
Would look good on a ex-Dutch converted German Ost-truppen uniform!!
The other item is a Tsarist era Russian cap cockade, as used by former Tsar Army white Russians, fighting with the Germans! and used by the Russian Corps in Serbia.
The breast insigna would do very good on an ex-Dutch tunic! There where only a couple of tunics on which I have seen that breast insigna and only very few had the insigna on them mounted originaly.
I think I can understand your wife. But it looks like you've space enough, you don't want to see how my collection is displayed in a 3x2 meter room.
(2) OstTrüppen Officer. Lower pockets modification done in Dutch wool matching the tunic, usually not done so...(previous example) but this is an officer and tunic lacks support straps with hooks, instead rock style rear support hooks which makes sense for an officer!
Org Todt Doctor's ensemble. Set up still lacks OT armband, now shown with an SA reserve armband... breeches need some repairs but came with the tunic and are leather reenforced!
OT officer (doctor). Breeches need some mending.... "been there condition"...The pants are French tailored which is common for OT because of their Atlantic Wall construction activities and the fly buttons read "equipements militaires".
