Well .. I won't comment on that above

BUT .. I will say I find those cross-hairs on Posts 60 and 61 quite interesting. Don't believe I've seen that before on a Wound Badge.

              Ronny,
Thank you for being a jinx. You are not going to believe this, but I swear it is the truth-after all of the joking about the badge missing-it really is (well, sort of). I e-mailed the person that I bought the badge from this morning expressing my concern for its whereabouts (mailed from UK on 1/13). I was told that it was delivered to New Zealand...New Zealand...NEW FREAKIN" ZEALAND !!! Now, one of the rarest badges that I have ever seen in my life may never be mine. It is insured.....but the badge cannot be replaced. .

...I think I may be ok. The seller contacted New Zealand Customs office where it is being held as they caught the error. They are sending it back to the seller for re-mailing to me. I have to say that they covered all of their bases, and provided me with full color scans of all shipping documentation, and a tracking # as well, a real class act.

This is going to be the most traveled WB ever when it finally makes it to its final destination. I am converting one of my daughter's old doll houses into a little WB mansion for it. It is going to be quite happy in its new home... ........I am sick; I admit it........ .

Another valuable lesson in shipping etiquette. I have never lost anything sent or received yet ... but came close a few times. Even FedEx and UPS has tried delivering to the wrong address.

The key is the TRACKING No. Man, it is so nice to see where the package is ... that way you can react quickly when it goes to a wrong destination. No saying where they are otherwise.

I had a Cased Medal take 39 days to go from Germany to Canada .. normally only 8-10 days maximum. Many sleepless nights thinking about that one.

You are right Darrel. The I am so very glad that it was shipped with tracking and fully insured. The piece that I am waiting on can truly never be replaced. I don't even want to think about it being lost or worse-stolen.

This was purchsed as "found in Witt, Germany" It looks as if it has been outdoors for 60 years, but not in direct contact with soil as the material and thread are very well preserved as is the steel badge.
