    My Wound Badge Collection

I would like to share my collection of wound badges with you all. I will post some of what I have now, and take photos of the others as time allows. This first group is in no particular order, but does represent some of my favorites, and seldom-seen variants. I hope you enjoy.

This is a very odd variety of which I have seen only 5. I am sure there are more, but they are fairly hard to find. This one is very thick, and hefty.

This example is very, very thin. About 1/3 the thickness of the previous badge. It is so thin, that even the pressure from the back of the pin at the hinge, has bulged the brass at top.

Note the very "chiseled" features of the wreath around the edges, and the bow. It is much smaller than the other Imperial examples.

Blued, not painted TR period manufacture in near mint condition (mm L/54).

Silver (not plated), and maker marked. This was sold as a black version with no mention of the mm. At the time of purchase, it was completely and totally black. I normally do not clean any of my badges, but I thought this one deserved a light buffing with a silver polishing cloth.

If you compare this badge to "6" above, you will see that they are an exact match. No big deal right? Notice the maker marks on each...thay are by two different manufacturers. Proof that factories shared dies even during Imperial times.
