Yes and no. Regulations state side arm on the left, mapcase on the right. Of course sometimes regulations were ignored but this would be the exception to the rule(s).

Thank you for the info so it was also against te regulations to wear it on the back on some pics you see that also.

Well if necessity made it practical to have it on the back for instance when crawling towards the enemy of course it was done but getting your gun or map out when it is on your back is not easy.

Some might know the uniform from the Militaria Magazine or the Military Advisor... so here two other shots from the shooting and for the MA-readers in color! Again, i am lacking a mannequin, but there are so many girls around

This is a really rare (if not unique) costume to a DRK nurse employed in Afrika. Along with the estates of Gete Fock and Hanny Weber this is the core of my DAK-DRK (what a combination!) nurses collection.
