Hi HAF, you're right now that I look at it! I expect they would be cut to length after being issued, so probably issued too long? I would be hesitant to cut it however, so could perhaps fold it up next time I display it.

All of this talk of overcoats led to me getting my first one! Picked up an unissued standard Luftwaffe M42. Some more pictures here:-

Also picked up a stone mint Luftwaffe Noelle & Hueck (Lüdenscheid) "L" marked buckle which I thought goes well with it. Also good for displaying a variety of different boards etc.

First 2 pictures portraying a Flight/ FJ Unteroffizier with an aluminium buckle I already had.

Steve I love your quality items but the mix of items is not correct. Either he is SS Feldgendarmerie with SS EM beltbuckle, gorget, orange piped shoulder straps and SS helmet. Or he is in an SS Police regiment (OrPo) with police helmet, police EM buckle but would need a full police uniform. Or he is part of the SS Polizei division who later in war used standard WSS uniforms and equipment so no Police decal helmet (and no gorget as this is Feldgendarmerie only).

But again, like you items, especially the overcoat!

Hey Lou, is it normal for the visor cap to not match the tunic and trouser shade? I was just wondering because I am having difficulty in finding a visor cap to match my uniform.

Great set up but I agree with Eric on the discrepancies... He could be a Polizei Division SS soldier I guess who kept his Polizei decaled combat helmet but at least get him an SS belt buckle, since the SS great coat represents a later pattern as worn in the period when the Polizei Division became a full fledged W-SS unit...
And their helmets got re-decaled (over decaled) to W-SS...let's say this one got overlooked... Double decal is also a little too early for this pattern great coat, but still looks awesome...still feasible...An SS buckle would complete the W-SS look better.

I just finished painting this mannequin for my own collection. Maybe a rauchtarn tarnjacke to top it off but other then that I'd say 12 SS is a go!
